Welcome to Oslo, surrounded by mountains and sea, this compact, cultured and fun city has a palpable sense of reinvention. Come to Oslo to pay homage to Edvard Munch and Henrik Ibsen, the city’s two most famous sons, by all means. But don't leave without discovering something about its contemporary cultural life too. En route, you will enjoy a local orientation tour of the city
On arrival at Oslo Airport, you will be met by the driver/representative who will transfer you to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is free to recuperate from the journey. Depending upon the flight's arrival time, in the afternoon recuperate with a visit to some of the famous attractions in Oslo.
Suggested activity you can opt for: "Norwegian Viking Age - VR Experience," Norway’s first digital museum offering several unique experiences based on the Viking heritage. The center is conveying the "Norwegian Viking Age" to the world in a new way and showcasing the impact the Vikings had on the culture and the cultural heritage of the world. Through groundbreaking virtual reality technology, you can now step back more than a thousand years to board a Viking ship and be part of a Viking ambush on the west coast of Norway.
Today after breakfast, you will have the day to explore Oslo on your own. You can also opt for the below activities if needed. Visit the Kon-Tiki Museum Entrance Ticket.
Thor Heyerdahl (1914-2002) gained worldwide fame when he crossed the Pacific Ocean on the balsawood raft Kon-Tiki in 1947. He followed this up with spectacular expeditions on the reed boats Ra and Tigris. At the Kon-Tiki Museum, guests can experience original vessels and up-to- date exhibits on Heyerdahl's expeditions, including Kon-Tiki, Ra, Tigris, Easter Island, Fatu-Hiva, Tucume, and Galapagos; a 30-metre cave tour; an underwater exhibit with a 10-metre model of a whale shark; Thor Heyerdahl's library; Thor Heyerdahl in person, and Tiki pop culture. The original, Oscar-winning Kon-Tiki documentary film is screened every day at noon in the cinema, and the museum has a well-stocked souvenir shop
