Sightseeing covered during the trip

Juma Mosque: he Shamakhi Juma Mosque, the oldest and largest mosque in Azerbaijan, is said to have been constructed in the 8th century when an Arabian caliph chose Shamakhi as his residence. Over 1,200 years later, it still stands as one of the largest religious structures in the Caucasus. The journey to this historic site takes approximately two hours, but you won't be bored during the drive; your guide will share fascinating insights about the country’s history, culture, and more.

Nokhur Gel Lake: Nohur Lake is one of the most stunning lakes in Azerbaijan, known for its unique beauty. Surrounded by mountains, wooded hills, and lush reed thickets, the lake resembles a mirror reflecting the forested slopes around it. The tranquil nature, clear waters, and towering mountains create an atmosphere of peace and pure delight. The journey to this enchanting natural wonder takes about an hour, giving you ample time to soak in its beauty once you arrive

Seven Beauties Waterfall: Imagine the breathtaking scenery of the Greater Caucasus, where trees with tightly woven canopies create a cool, shaded environment, and a waterfall tumbles down from high in the mountains. This stunning sight, known as "Seven Beauties," gets its name from the seven cascades of varying heights that make up the waterfall. Since we will already be in Gabala, it will only take about half an hour to travel from the lake to this beautiful waterfall.

Tufandag Mountain Resort: Situated in the city of Gabala, a rapidly growing tourist destination. The Tufandag cable car station is located at the Qafqaz Riverside Resort Hotel, just a 5-minute drive from the center of Gabala.

Day 4

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, get ready for your full day trip to Gobustan-Mud Volcano & Absheron Tour. Located just outside Baku's city center, the Gobustan-Absheron region features a variety of historic and natural landmarks. Join a small-group tour to explore some of Azerbaijan’s most significant sites, including the bubbling mud volcanoes, ancient rock petroglyphs, the Fire Temple, and the flaming hills of Yanar Dag.

Sightseeing covered during the trip

Mud Volcanoes: This area has been an active zone for mud volcanoes for hundreds of years, creating a surreal landscape that resembles the surface of the moon. In the past, people believed this place was the homeland of jinns (demons in Azerbaijani culture). A small trail leads to the mud volcanoes, adding a touch of romance to the scene and enhancing the majestic scenery.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape: Our next stop is a key reason for Gobustan's global popularity. Tucked away from view is the village of the first Cro-Magnons, preserved untouched by human hands. Before that, our guests will visit the modern museum, where they'll gain insight into the lives of our ancestors and learn about the history of this remarkable region.

Gobustan Rock Art: Renowned for its extensive collection of prehistoric petroglyphs. Dating back to the Stone Age, these ancient carvings depict various scenes from the lives of early humans, including hunting, rituals, and everyday activities. The site offers invaluable insights into the cultural and social practices of our ancestors and serves as a testament to human creativity and expression. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gobustan Rock Art stands as a significant landmark, attracting visitors eager to explore the rich history of human civilization.

World's First Oil Well: On our journey, we'll also make a stop at the first oil well ever drilled in Azerbaijan and indeed, the world. Drilled in 1846, it began producing oil on July 14, 1848. This well was crucial in advancing oil production, paving the way for the industry as we know it today. Additionally, we'll pass by pumpjacks that were constructed during the Soviet era and are still in operation today.

Ateshgah - Fire Temple: Azerbaijan is known as the "land of fire," a title rooted in its history. For centuries, the Absheron region was marked by flames erupting from the ground. News of this natural phenomenon spread quickly, leading Hindu Brahmanites and Persian Zoroastrians to construct a grand temple in the first century BC, which they named Ateshgah. Positioned at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, Azerbaijan was a bustling hub where merchants frequently sought shelter and rest. To accommodate travelers, a magnificent caravanserai was built in Absheron. Visitors to this site will have the opportunity to learn about the daily lives of its historical inhabitants, the traditions of fire worshippers, and much more.

Yanar Dag: Yanardag is one of the enchanting sites in Azerbaijan. For centuries, flames have erupted from the earth, earning the mountain the name Yanar Dag, meaning "Burning Mountain." Situated near the summit, it offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the mesmerizing fire, providing an unforgettable experience that feels truly otherworldly

Day 5

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, Experience the stunning mountainous Guba region of Azerbaijan on this full-day tour.
