Christmas in Thailand 2025

In December, Bangkok and Phuket came up. Malls put up huge Christmas trees, play all the traditional tunes, and Santa's there sweating through his costume. Everyone is having a great time, including the locals and visitors. The laid-back vibe of everything is what makes it unique.

Beach parties replace chilly evenings. Hotels dish up wonderful banquets that combine Thai tastes with Christmas classics. Bars and clubs have proper celebrations that run late into the night.

Thailand's become a popular selection for destinations to celebrate Christmas throughout the globe, and it's simple to understand. Sand, sun, and festivities all in one. Whether it's a busy party setting or a peaceful beach supper, the entire atmosphere just fits.

Best Christmas Activities in Thailand

Christmas all over the world is one of the most-awaited times people wait for. Thailand completely gets transformed and trying Christmas activities in Thailand will be the best thing you can ever do.

Hold Hand and Enjoy Ice Skating

The possibilities are fairly limited when it comes to ice skating rinks in Bangkok, but some of the major malls, such as CentralWorld and Mega Bangna, offer sufficiently sized ice skating rinks. They are sure to meet your ice skating desires! Put on the ice skates and move to the stunning Christmas decorations and sounds.

CentralWorld in Bangkok is a huge mall featuring a skating rink on site. Skating here will put you right in the holiday mood, especially with the huge Christmas tree in the middle. CentralWorld boasts a lot of Christmas decorations, one of which is a big display set in the mall’s seven-story atrium. So you may roam about and take in the Christmas decorations when you’ve finished skating.

Things to do at Christmas in Thailand

Christmas is the time when you will get a chance to explore a lot in Thailand. Cities like Bangkok are the ones that will not only amaze you with the city lights, but also experiencing new things to do in Thailand will be unimaginable.

Enjoy the Tuk Tuk Ride and See Christmas Lights

One of the most pleasant things to do around Christmas is to join one of the top tuk-tuk rides and feel the festive spirit of the city. Tuk-tuks, three-wheeled motorized vehicles, are a typical form of travel in the city.

You are going to love this opportunity and get to the Christmas markets in the Silom area and other locations, and you can even make stops anytime you want to buy Christmas souvenirs and small gifts for your Christmas trip.

During the Christmas season, various areas and streets in Bangkok decorate their roadways with Christmas lights, which makes your tuk-tuk ride a more than pleasant experience. Walking around these areas and seeing the Christmas decorations is an attractive pastime for locals and visitors.

Get Peace at the Cruise

If one wants to spend Christmas Eve in Bangkok, we suggest taking one of the city's top Christmas Eve cruises, one that follows the Chao Phraya River. You will adore the night view of the city from the river while trying some classic Thai meals, or if you like, some western foods.

During the trip you will be able to enjoy the Christmas lights of greater Bangkok shining from the Chao Phraya River. The wide views of the Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaew temples are among the most amazing sites. You may also take in the live music and Christmas performances on board, as well as the boats' decorations.

Christmas Markets and Events in Thailand

Special Christmas events and markets in Thailand are one of the most important part of the entire trip. Don’t forget to explore them all.

Involve Yourself in the Colors of Doi Tung

This year’s event is a cooperation between the Mae Fah Luang Foundation and Mae Fah Luang University, bringing together art, culture, conservation, and happy imagination. The event promotes the idea of bringing inspiration from the sky to the land, represented by the cute guardians of the mountain—characters inspired by Tai Yai customs, local culture, and biodiversity.

The festival welcomes everyone with free access to the walking street zone, where neighborhood businesses, handcrafted crafts, local food, and entertaining activity booths fill the area with life and enthusiasm. The Doi Tung Royal Villa, Mae Fah Luang Garden, and Mae Fah Luang Arboretum are among the neighboring sites that visitors may explore under the Doi Tung Development Project.
